About Jasmine Buds

Jasmine Buds are the dried, unopened flowers of jasmine, most often Jasminum sambac, the Arabian jasmine native to India and the eastern Himalayan foothills and grown across South and Southeast Asia. The buds are picked in the morning while still closed, so they carry a concentrated trace of the scent the blossom would have released that night. For centuries jasmine has been strung into wedding garlands in India, laid at temples, worn in the hair in the Philippines and Hawaii, and in Western folk magic it belongs to the Moon, to love and to the dreaming mind.
