Over the years, we have built lasting relationships with experienced growers and harvesters who share our commitment to responsible land stewardship, sustainable harvesting practices, and exceptional product quality. Our smudge collection—including White Sage (Salvia apiana), Blue Sage, Desert Sage, Black Sage (Mugwort), Yerba Santa, Cedar, and Dragon's Blood Sage bundles—is harvested with the long-term health of the native plant populations in mind. Our suppliers selectively harvest only mature plant material while avoiding overharvesting in any one area. This careful approach allows plants to naturally regenerate, preserves healthy growing areas, and minimizes environmental impact. Responsible harvesting ensures these valuable plants remain available for future generations.
Once harvested, all of our sage sticks are handmade, hand-tied, and naturally sun-dried in California, USA. No chemicals or pesticides are used during the growing process. Every harvest season is carefully managed to preserve healthy plant stands for future growth. Sustainably grown and ethically harvested products have always been one of our highest priorities. Our Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) is ethically sourced from Peru through trusted suppliers who follow strict sustainable harvesting practices. The wood used for our Palo Santo products is collected exclusively from naturally fallen branches and trees that have completed their natural life cycle. No living trees are cut down to produce our Palo Santo. This method complies with Peruvian regulations while supporting the responsible management and conservation of this important natural resource.
One of the most common misconceptions surrounding White Sage and Palo Santo is that all products on the market are harvested irresponsibly. While sourcing practices can vary within the industry, we believe it's important to recognize that responsibly sourced products do exist. By partnering with experienced growers and ethical suppliers who follow sustainable harvesting methods, these natural resources can be harvested in a manner that supports regeneration, protects native habitats, and preserves these plants for future generations. We believe that quality begins at the source. Every supplier we work with is carefully selected based on their experience, harvesting methods, consistency, and commitment to sustainability.
Our goal has always been to provide products that honor both the traditions behind these botanicals and the environments from which they originate.
