About Clear Quartz

Clear Quartz is pure silicon dioxide — one of the most abundant minerals in Earth's crust and the standard against which other crystals are often measured. It grows as six-sided prisms tipped with pyramidal terminations, ranging from water-clear optical grade to softly clouded milky forms. Judy Hall ranked it as the most powerful healing and amplifying stone precisely because it is so unspecialized: rather than carrying one narrow gift, it strengthens, stores, and directs energy wherever it is pointed.

Item: One (1) Clear Quartz beaded bracelet

Look: Clear to milky white, often with natural inclusions

Size: Choose your bead size above. Stretch cord, fits most adult wrists (about 6½–7½").

Note: Color and pattern vary from bead to bead. Photos show the typical look and may not show every bead size.

Stable and water-safe at hardness 7. Keep polished spheres out of direct sunlight — they can focus light like a lens and scorch nearby surfaces.

Clear Quartz grows wherever silica-rich water finds space and time — in hydrothermal veins, pegmatites, and rock cavities, where dissolved silicon dioxide slowly stacks itself into six-sided prisms. The finest specimens come from Brazil, the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas, Madagascar, and the high Himalayas.

Clear Quartz is macrocrystalline quartz, pure silicon dioxide (SiO2) in the trigonal crystal system, with a vitreous luster and a hardness of 7. It is piezoelectric, producing a small electric charge under pressure, which is why quartz keeps time in watches and stabilizes frequencies in electronics.

  • The ancient Greeks named quartz krystallos, meaning ice, believing it was water frozen by the gods so completely it could never thaw.
  • In Japanese lore, clear quartz was said to form from the breath of the White Dragon and was honored as the perfect jewel, a symbol of purity and patience.
  • Wealthy Roman women carried polished quartz spheres in summer to cool their hands, and Roman physicians used crystal spheres to focus the sun's rays.
What is Clear Quartz good for?

Clear Quartz is traditionally used as an amplifier. People reach for it to sharpen focus and memory, clear mental fog before a decision, hold a set intention, and strengthen the other crystals it sits beside. Crystal workers have long called it the master healer.

How do you cleanse Clear Quartz, and can it get wet?

Yes. Clear Quartz is fully water-safe, so rinse it under lukewarm running water and dry it with a soft cloth. Recharge it overnight in moonlight. Brief sun is fine, but never leave polished spheres in direct sunlight, since they can focus light like a lens and scorch nearby surfaces.

Can a Clear Quartz sphere start a fire in the sun?

It can. A clear, polished sphere focuses sunlight like a magnifying lens, and Roman physicians once used crystal spheres to concentrate the sun's rays. Keep spheres out of sunny windowsills and away from direct sunlight so they can't scorch nearby surfaces.

What is the difference between Clear Quartz and milky quartz?

They are the same mineral, silicon dioxide. Clear Quartz is transparent and glass-like, while milky quartz is softly clouded white by microscopic fluid inclusions trapped as the crystal grew. Both share the same hardness of 7 and the same care.
